Warranty

This page sets out the warranty terms for the LED lighting range and for the solar and power equipment range now sold together under LED & Solar. The two ranges carry different terms because they come from different manufacturers, so please check the section that applies to what you have bought.

LED Lighting Warranty

The whole LED lighting range carries a 5 year warranty. This applies across the range, not just to tubes or a subset of products.

Solar and Power Warranty

Inverters

The following applies to the VOLTASOL and Conversol inverter ranges, including the off-grid and hybrid HSI3000, HSI10000, HSI5000, HSI5500 and ESS 5.5KW models, supplied by Voltacon UK Limited.

The standard manufacturer's warranty is 1 year, and the cost of this is included in the product price. Extended warranties of 3 years and 5 years are available as a paid option; pricing for these is published in the Voltacon Solar Price List and can be updated annually without prior notice.

The warranty document showing the inverter's serial number must be issued within 1 month of installation and commissioning at your premises, or within 1 year of the original shipping date, whichever comes first. The date on that document is the official start of the warranty period.

The warranty is granted to the person who actually purchased and uses the inverter. It does not transfer to traders at any level, and it does not transfer automatically if the inverter is moved to a different site, though it can be transferred to a new occupier of the same premises with written approval and proof of the change.

What the inverter warranty covers

If a covered defect significantly reduces the inverter's feed power during the warranty period, we will repair it free of charge or replace it with a unit of at least the same feed power rating. This is the limit of the warranty: it does not cover loss of profit, loss of income from power fed into the grid, installation or de-installation costs, or the cost of diagnosing the fault. Any claim must be made in writing within the warranty period.

If an inverter is sent in under warranty and no fault is found, or the claim is not valid for another reason, an administration charge of £30 applies, along with the cost of returning the unit to you.

What is excluded

• Improper use
• Installation that was unprofessional, incorrect, did not meet standards, or did not follow our installation instructions
• Operation against our advisories or instructions
• Operation with defective protective systems
• Unauthorised modifications or repairs
• Replacement parts or accessories that do not meet the original specification
• Failure to carry out required maintenance
• Removal, damage or destruction of the sealing or type plate
• Damage from an external cause or force majeure
• Non-compliance with applicable safety regulations
• Transport damage
• Lightning damage

Maintenance access

We may carry out maintenance and inspection of Voltacon inverters, either ourselves or through an authorised third party. Where this happens, access to the inverter and the connected solar system needs to be arranged with you in advance.

Lithium batteries

Voltacon lithium batteries carry a limited warranty from Voltacon UK Limited.

Governing law

The solar and power warranty terms are governed by the law of the United Kingdom, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Coventry.
