Product Description

The Victron Inverter 24/800 230V VE.Direct IEC is a pure sine wave inverter built for off-grid and mobile power setups. It takes 24V DC from a battery bank and outputs 800VA continuous at 230V AC, with an IEC connector for the AC side and a VE.Direct port for monitoring.

Key features

  • Output, 800VA continuous, pure sine wave AC, suitable for motors and sensitive electronics.
  • Input, 24V DC, with a wide input voltage range to handle varying battery states.
  • Monitoring, VE.Direct port for VictronConnect app or a Victron GX device such as a Cerbo GX.
  • AC connector, IEC, for standard wiring to fixed circuits or loads.
  • Weight, 5.8 kg.
  • Protection, low battery voltage shutdown, overload and over-temperature cutoff.

Product overview

The 24/800 belongs to Victron's VE.Direct inverter range, which swaps a basic status LED for a digital communication port. That means real-time data over VictronConnect via Bluetooth, using an optional dongle, or a wired link into a Victron GX device. For an installer putting together a monitored off-grid system, having that data feed matters.

Pure sine wave output means it runs anything a mains socket would, including inductive loads like motors and compressors as well as electronics that dislike modified sine wave power. At 800VA it suits lighting circuits, small appliances and low-power tools rather than heavy draw equipment. The IEC output gives a standard AC connection point for installations that need to meet UK and EU wiring practice, and the 24V input is typical of larger off-grid banks and commercial vehicles where 12V cabling would need to be impractically thick at this power level.

Applications

  • Off-grid cabins and remote buildings running 230V AC from a 24V bank.
  • Marine installations on 24V DC vessels.
  • Commercial vehicles, motorhomes and campervans with 24V leisure batteries.
  • Small solar off-grid systems needing VE.Direct integration.
  • Backup power for low-draw AC loads in telecoms or industrial enclosures.

What's in the box

  • Victron Inverter 24/800 230V VE.Direct IEC unit.

Installation notes

Fit this by a qualified electrician or accredited installer. Connect the DC input to a correctly fused 24V battery bank with cabling rated for the load. The IEC AC output should go to a fixed wiring circuit or a suitable load, and must not be pushed past the 800VA rating. Leave room around the unit for ventilation to avoid thermal shutdown. VE.Direct accessories such as a USB interface or Bluetooth dongle are sold separately and needed for remote monitoring.
