The 12/2500 Smart sits at the top of Victron's 12V inverter range, delivering 2500VA of continuous output from a wall-mountable enclosure. Pure sine wave output matters for loads such as air conditioning units, refrigeration compressors, medical equipment and anything with a switched-mode power supply; a modified sine wave unit would struggle here.

The integrated Bluetooth module connects directly to the VictronConnect app without extra hardware. Installers can adjust low battery shutdown thresholds, check AC output and DC input readings, and set up the programmable relay, all without physically reaching the unit once it is mounted.

This is a standalone DC to AC inverter. It does not include a battery charger or transfer switch. Where charging and transfer functionality are needed, Victron's MultiPlus or MultiPlus-II range covers that instead.

Installation notes

This inverter draws high DC currents from a 12V battery bank. At full output, DC cable sizing and fusing are critical. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician familiar with DC power systems. The unit is not grid-connected, but AC wiring on the output side must comply with BS 7671. Confirm the battery bank can handle the peak current demand of a 2500VA inverter before commissioning.
