Ledison T8 LED Tube 120cm (4ft) 20W, 2400 Lumen Retrofit
The Ledison T8 LED tube 120cm is a direct retrofit replacement for 36W fluorescent tubes, delivering 2400 lumens from just 20 watts. It fits straight into your existing G13 fitting, comes with an LED starter in the box, and cuts lighting energy use by up to 60% compared with the fluorescent tube and ballast it replaces.
It is also the natural upgrade for early generation LED tubes. If your first LED retrofits were rated for 20,000 to 35,000 hours, many of them are now past their useful life and noticeably dimmer than the day they were installed. This tube is rated for 50,000 hours with 80% lumen maintenance, so it is a genuine long term replacement, not another short cycle.
Key Features
- 2400 lumen output at 120lm/W, brighter than the 36W fluorescent tube it replaces
- Up to 60% energy saving compared with a 36W fluorescent tube and ballast
- 50,000 hour rated lifetime, maintaining 80% of original brightness (L80)
- Direct retrofit for standard G13 fittings, LED starter included with every tube
- Rotating end caps (180 degrees) to aim the 120 degree beam exactly where it is needed
- Frosted cover for uniform, low glare light with no flicker
- Fireproof lens and anodised aluminium housing for effective heat dissipation
- Everlight and CREE LED chips with a colour rendering index above 80
- Operates from -40°C to +50°C, so performance does not drop in cold buildings
- Three colour temperatures: warm white, natural white and cool white
- 5 year warranty
Product Overview
This 120cm (4ft) T8 LED tube is built around branded Everlight and CREE LED chips mounted on a printed circuit board with thermal vias, which draw heat away from the chips and into the anodised aluminium housing. Effective thermal management is what separates a tube that genuinely lasts 50,000 hours from one that fades after two or three years, and it is the reason we can support this product with a 5 year warranty.
The internal driver accepts 100 to 265V AC, so light output stays stable even on sites with voltage fluctuation. Unlike fluorescent tubes, there is no flicker, no slow warm up and no starter buzz, and the tube reaches full brightness instantly, even in unheated spaces where fluorescent tubes struggle in winter.
All tubes are supplied with a frosted cover as standard. A frosted cover spreads the light evenly along the tube and removes the dotted LED appearance, which gives a cleaner result in offices, retail spaces and anywhere the tube is visible. Clear covers are available on request, subject to stock.
Please note this tube is not dimmable. A dimmable T8 range is available separately if you need dimming control.

Installation and Safety Notes
On fittings with a conventional magnetic ballast and starter, installation is simple: isolate the power, remove the old starter, fit the supplied LED starter, and install the tube.
If your fitting has an electronic ballast, the ballast must be removed or bypassed and the tube connected directly to the mains supply. This modification involves rewiring the fitting and must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Always isolate the electrical supply before any work on the fitting, and ensure the installation complies with current wiring regulations.
This tube is designed for dry indoor locations. For damp or dusty environments, install it inside a suitable non-corrosive fitting. For escape routes and commercial premises that must remain lit during a power cut, a compatible emergency conversion pack with battery backup is available separately.
