This silver aluminium mini rail kit fixes solar panels straight onto trapezoidal and corrugated metal roof sheets. It covers every part between the panel frame and the roof: U-shape mini rails with rubber pads and self-tapping screws, plus end clamps and mid clamps for 30mm or 35mm frames. Choose a kit for 2, 3 or 4 panels.

Flat roof solar panel mounting with short rails

Full length rails are replaced by short 120mm sections screwed directly to the roof sheet. A rubber pad goes under each one. Aluminium nuts slide into the rail channel to take the clamps, so the panels sit low and close to the roof.

• Mini rails: silver aluminium, U-shape, 120mm long (ING-SPR-120)
• Roof fixing: self-tapping screws, with a rubber pad between rail and sheet
• End clamps: ING-SEC-30/35, reversible, one side for 30mm frames and the other for 35mm
• Mid clamps: ING-SMC-30/35, holding two panels on one rail
• Kit sizes: 2, 3 or 4 panels in one row, combine kits for larger arrays

Where it fits

Use it on flat and low pitch metal roofs on industrial units, warehouses and workshops, as well as garages, barns, sheds and agricultural buildings. The silver finish matches standard silver frame panels on small residential and commercial arrays. It is not intended for tiled, slate, felt or membrane roofs.

Fitting sequence

Fix the mini rails at the spacing set by your panel size. Fit end clamps to the first panel, add a mid clamp between each pair, then close the row with end clamps on the far side. Tools needed: T-handle hex key, cordless drill with socket bit and work gloves.

Installation and safety

Fitting should be done by a qualified solar installer or competent roofer, after checking the roof sheet and the structure beneath it. Set rail spacing and fixing count to suit the panel size, roof profile and local wind and snow loads, and check the panel maker's clamping zones first. Work at height safely with proper access equipment and edge protection. Electrical installation and connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician or MCS certified installer.
