The Solis S6-EH1P10K-L-PLUS is a 10kW single phase hybrid inverter from the Solis Solarator range, built for low voltage battery systems. It works with 40 to 60V lithium-ion or lead-acid batteries, making it a hybrid solar power inverter suited to larger homes and small businesses that want solar self-consumption, battery storage and backup power from a single wall-mounted unit.

How it works

The inverter combines a solar charge controller, battery inverter and grid-tie inverter in one unit. Solar power feeds the loads first, then you choose between Self-use, Selling first or Off grid storage modes. Timed charge and discharge windows, a settable battery reserve and grid peak shaving give control over when and how the battery is used. A multi-function port can be configured as a generator input, a smart load output, or an AC-coupled input for an existing grid-tie PV inverter. Up to 6 units can run in parallel to expand capacity.

Residential solar PV paired with 48V battery storage. Larger homes and small commercial sites that need 10kW of single phase output. Backup power for essential loads during outages, time-of-use tariff charging, off-grid or weak-grid sites with a generator, and retrofitting battery storage onto an existing grid-tie system by AC coupling.

Installation notes

Install by a qualified electrician or MCS certified installer to BS 7671. In the UK a 10kW system normally needs a G99 application to the DNO. The manual recommends an 80A AC breaker, a Type A RCD of at least 100mA where required, a 300A DC breaker with 1/0AWG battery cable, 4 to 6mm² PV cable and an earth conductor of 16mm² or larger. The supplied CT must be fitted at the grid connection point with its arrow pointing towards the grid, and the backup port must never be connected to the grid. The IP66 enclosure suits indoor or outdoor mounting, out of direct sun and rain, with clearance of 300mm above, 150mm each side and 800mm below. Only 40 to 60V batteries can be used; check the Solis battery compatibility list before fitting.
